BIGFOOD DANMARK ApS was founded in 2010 by Henrik Nørby and his German partner Stefan Reese, along with the company BIGFOOD Produktions GmbH. With a shared vision of creating innovation in the Scandinavian food market, the two entrepreneurs established what we know today as BIGFOOD.
Henrik Nørby leads BIGFOOD on a daily basis from the company's base in Svendborg. With over 25 years of experience in buying and selling food, Henrik has developed a strong business acumen, which he applies to import and export a wide range of products, from dressings and cheeses to plant-based foods (vegan).
Henrik Nørby has a strong passion for sustainability and natural taste experiences without additives. He has long been convinced that clean label products had a future in Denmark – a belief that has proven to be true as these products have gained popularity since the middle of the last decade.
Henrik Nørby's vision for BIGFOOD is to deliver unique product ranges and create a WOW experience for consumers, connecting customers with the products and ensuring that there is always something special to offer.
The products at BIGFOOD are supplied by professional vendors from both domestic and international sources, and Henrik collaborates with major food chains such as Salling Group, Coop, Rema1000, and Lidl. Additionally, a wide range of delicious dressings, dips, and sauces are distributed to canteens, restaurants, and cafes through nationwide wholesalers like AB Catering, BC Catering, Hørkram Foodservice, and Dagrofa Foodservice.
With over 15 years of experience in supply chain management, we have a solid understanding of the complex logistical processes that ensure efficient and reliable operations. Our expertise spans all aspects of logistics – from inventory and storage to transportation and timely delivery.
We collaborate with some of the world’s leading international transportation companies, including NAGEL, DACHSER, and H.P. Therkelsen, to ensure that our products arrive on time and in perfect condition. Our focus on food safety is unwavering, and we prioritize IFS and BRC certifications with our suppliers.
